Racehorse Leasing

The ability to lease a racehorse provides a low up front cost alternative to enter the industry. Under a lease arrangement you (the lessee) will assume full rights and responsibilities for the ownership of the horse, although you do not pay to purchase the horse.

The lessee is responsible for all costs and receives all stakes earnings of the horse, less a rental payable to the owner (determined via mutual agreement but often 25% - 33% of earnings). A lease can be for a term of up to 3 years and will often include an option to purchase the horse outright at a predetermined figure.
