Big week for Impressive Racing

Sun, 20 Nov 16

Trainer Darren McAuliffe and Impressive Racing have tasted success at Ascot with a treble on Wednesday.

With four runners for the mid-week program, Master Magician started the day in style with an impressive victory leading from start to finish. It was a mature ride by apprentice Jordan Turner who was able to dictate the pace of the race early and then capitalise late.

The following race saw leading jockey William Pike do the exact same on Gatting who made it back to back victories. Pike said post-race "The senior learnt something from the apprentice (Turner) from the previous race.

The day got better for the team after By Decree returned to form with a dominant first-up performance. After showing plenty of ability at the farm and also in her first preparation, she was disappointing to say the least last campaign. McAuliffe was quick to not get carried away with the victory, but was happy with how she'd returned this prep.

The positive news continued for Impressive Racing, with McAuliffe securing Corey Brown to ride Military Reign in the Group 1 Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot.
